"Sake" it to me Baby ~ Dinner for 2!

First of all, hope everyone is having a good weekend! Ours has been quiet - which has been very nice!! Mike usually has to work on Saturdays & I do too. Luckily though - he was off today. I had to work till about 3:30, but I was so glad to know that he was off and enjoying his day. He helped me out by taking a couple things back for me that I needed to return. A rug & some drapes that didn't work out. Then he went to the gym and just enjoyed the rest of his day. On my way home from work I called him asked him if Chinese food sounded good because I was really craving Kung Pao Shrimp. He said that sounded good and then he ended up running up to the store before I got home to get a few things I needed to make it for dinner. Since we were having Chinese food - I thought I would make us a nice little spread on the floor and we would enjoy our dinner with comfy floor seating. I pulled out a rug I had tucked away and tossed a couple extra red pillows on the floor and Voila! It was quite comfy (& cute!) It made me think that if we ever get around to having a party or something - this would be an adorable idea for dinner. I played my Dinner Party music I had put together a long time ago and we ate, laughed and enjoyed being together! Dinner was really good and the Kung Pao really hit the spot - although I think it may have been a hair too spicy for Mike. I say it all turned out good and it did, but the rice was a little on the mushy side. I tried rice in the bag (which I have cooked before since it's so quick and easy) and it turned out good then, but tonight it was not that great. I don't like mushy rice. So I hated that and found it quite annoying that the easiest part of the meal I was fixing was a big flop! Oh well - those things happen. I'm just glad we didn't have company - like we had thought about doing tonight. I would not have known what to do if that had happened.

I'm thinking we will be dining like this again very soon. I also think a girls night with some wine, sushi, comfy pillows and good convo would be fun too!

Our little setup

Some of my ingredients . . . .

We are not big on regular Sake, it's okay. Our favorite is Pineapple Sake! It is SOO good!!
I'm not looking too hot here - it had been a long day.
Dinner is Served!
I think I could dine like this (on the floor) all the time . . . talk about comfy!!

Hi Lindsey, I'm so glad you stopped by my blog, so I could find yours! You and your husband are so adorable! Your home looks lovely from the pics you posted. And how cute that you set up floor dining for dinner. That shrimp looks SO good! I didn't put that down as one of my obsessions, but as far as food goes, shrimp HAS to be on my obsession list too, along with the purses, shoes and interior design books! :)

Cozy is right! I love sitting on the floor to eat, even if it's just cereal! Your set-up is way better than anything I could pull together though! And the food looks delicious!

Where did you get the pineapple Sake? I have looked for it here and there and when I do remember I can't find it.
