Oooh La La . . . Outdoor Spaces

Now that warmer weather has arrived I have been thinking about my patio. I need to get out there, wash everything off, and get my summer cushions, pillows and lanterns out. I have also been thinking about trying to put some outdoor curtains around the patio, I think I that would ad a nice little touch!

Here are some FABULOUS outdoor spaces . . . I wouldn't mind relaxing in one of these, would you?

Celebrity Demands & Requests Backstage

I think we have all heard a few stories here and there about celebs and things they demand when traveling and backstage. Well I found a list of celebs and some of their funny, quirky and crazy demands. . .

Justin Timberlake requires that someone goes around every couple hours to disinfect doorknobs . . . {these days with some of the things that go around, I almost can't blame him. It also may be the case that he's not just worried about the germs themselves, but is trying to keeping from catching anything and getting sick since he does perform a lot. who knows?}

David Hassellhoff insists on a life sized cut of himself backstage {ha ha - why does this not surprise me??}

Mariah Carey insists on having a new toilet seat and gold faucets installed in her hotel suite before she checks in. She flies in her own personal bed linens and must have enough of a certain kind of mineral water so she and her dog can bathe everyday. She also requests that her dressing room have puppies, kittens & bunny rabbits (haha), and an attendant to take her used chewing gum.

Beyonce requires a fresh scrubbed and disinfected backstage toilet {I can't blame her for this - I would require this too!}

Barbra Streisand made a requests in London at two different hotels to have rose petals in the toilet, peach colored toilet tissue to match her complexion, and 120 designer bath towels, also in peach. {Oooookaaaay?!?!}

Jennifer Hudson had an appearance canceled due to her diva like demands which were: five cars, hair, makeup and security staff and . . . baked chicken wings for breakfast

Prince requires a Dr. be backstage and on hand to give him a B-12 shot and that all food be covered in plastic wrap until he uncovers it {I don't think that food part is that weird, do you? Sometimes I am kind of weird about my food sitting out too}

Van Halen requests a bowl full of M&M's BUT with all of the brown ones removed. The only reason they do this is to make sure the organizers are fully reading the contract and they are more concerned about their equipment being set up properly. They know that everything will be taken care of when they see that all the brown M&M's are gone b/c that tells them that their contracted was read very closely! haha

Iggy Pop once requested that 7 dwarves be brought back stage . . . hmmmmm

Amy Winehouse actually isn't needy when it comes to backstage, but she does require that her crew stay sober so she can get wasted! Ironic {btw . . this is one of the better pictures I have seen of her . . . }

Jennifer Lopez insists her coffee be stirred counter clockwise {WEIRD, who freakin cares which way it's stirred?!?}

I think I should do a post one day one what I, Lindsey Nabors, would request if I were a celeb and ask all of you the same . . . come one you know if you could, you would request SOMETHING!! Admit it!

Show 'N Tell Tuesday: Out With The Old, In With The New

SHOW:
TELL:

I have had this picture since I was in high school. Actually I have 2 of them, one with a Cheetah and one with a Lion. I got them in high school from this store called Interiors by Canova (those of you from NWA know this store.) I was re-doing my room and going with a leopard theme, which was popular at the time. So I have these 2 pictures and while I like the frames, I'm not into these prints anymore. These pictures have just been sitting in our office, and finally over the weekend I decided to do something with one of them.

A couple months ago I saw a black and white print of the Eiffel Tower and it was only $4. I didn't know when I would use it or where, but for the price I just decided to get it. So over the weekend I took a part one of the pictures and cut my new print to fit. It was quite larger then the frame itself so I had to trim quite a bit off. I got it all back together and Voila!

{Now I just gotta figure out where I want to put it . . . }

It's a lot cheaper to use frames you already have and simply replace the picture. You can find prints many places. Hobby Lobby always has a lot of prints and they are usually half off. So instead of spending a lot on a whole new picture, try to find a new print first. And if you don't like the frame, consider spray paint, which is another great way to bring new life to something old or something that is just not your style anymore.
Happy Tuesday!

Joyful About New Jewels {& my homemade chip report}

I have some new jewelry that I thought I would share. But first, let me tell you how my low cal chips turned out (see the previous post.) They turned out pretty good, although I could have gotten them a bit thinner. That was a little hard. Maybe I need a better knife next time I make my own potato chips.
Once they were finished, I made a little creation including the chips and some light sour cream. It was super yummy and I thought this would be a fun and yummy thing to do for a party. I just used light sour cream because that's what I had, but for a party you could use onion dip or some other kind of dip to go in between the chips.

My Creation:
What I loved about this is you can stack them and then when you pick each one up, it already has the dip on it, so that's why I think this would work great for a party!

For the Low Cal Potato Chip recipe, click here.

Now, on to the jewelry. I got a couple new pairs of earrings and a new necklace Thursday and thought I would share. They are not only so adorable, but each was such a great deal.

I am loving this necklace and can't wait to wear it. It was a whopping $7.99!! I love the silver earrings too! I have other silver earrings of course, but lately I have been feeling like I needed some kind of basic silver earring that I could wear with everything. The next earrings are kind of hard to tell what color they are in this picture, but they have some pink in them. I am not a huge pink person, but I liked these a lot and thought I could wear them a bunch this summer, plus they were ONLY $2.99 !! I found these 3 things at Burlington Coat Factory in case you were wondering. They usually have pretty cute jewelry for really great prices!

This last necklace is SO cool and I really can't wait to wear it! It is definitely funky but I think it would look so great over something as simple as a solid tank top or to jazz up a black dress. I got it while I was visiting my parents in TX over my birthday last month.

And you will never guess how much I found this necklace for??? $6! AWESOME find!! I would have paid more for it, but there was no question if I was getting it at this fabulous price!

Potato Potawto

Tonight I am thinking about trying to make homemade Potato chips! I found a low calorie version and going to try that I think. I love all potatos cooked & prepared in every way: mashed, baked, twice, potato salad, scalloped, french fries, new, wedges, hashbrowns, roasted . . . the list goes on and on. Potatoes themselves really are not that bad for you, it's just how you prepare them and how much you eat of them. They contain a lot of potassium (more then bananas) as well as many other vitamins such as Vitamin C. The average medium size Potato has 110 calories, 0 grams of fat, 26 carbs, 620mg of Potassium, and 3 grams of protein. I used to think that Potatoes had a lot more carbs then this, but they don't.

So . . . .what's your favorite way to eat/cook Potatos?

{P.S. I'll let you all know how my low cal Potato Chip recipe turns out & share if they are good!}

So Ready To . . .

I don't know about all of you, but I am SO ready to . . . .

This week has been really busy and tiring!! I have only been to the gym once, which I hate but I have just been SO tired and on the go ALL week! I guess it's just one of those weeks. I am working from home today (still in my pj's actually, ha ha) which is nice after this busy, long week I've had. I hope I can make myself get out and run some errands later and maybe go to the gym. Then again, sometimes after you have been on the go so much, it's nice just to stay home and not have to go anywhere at all. I feel bad too because I haven't cooked all week. It's been something quick and easy or we have grabbed something. I knew I wanted/needed to cook tonight, so I opted for something good and easy and threw a roast in the crock pot with potatoes, carrots, onion and fresh garlic! So easy and so yummy!!

Hope everyone is having a good week. Just one more day and it will be the WEEKEND and hopefully some time to RELAX!

Oh and I must give a shout out to my Best Friend since High school, Ashley over at Ashley's Avenue! Her Birthday was yesterday! We live about 5 hours away and I wasn't able to be with her on her birthday or be with her this weekend as she goes out with the girls to celebrate! But we should be seeing each other soon, which I am so excited about! Love you Ash and so glad to always call you my Best Friend!!

Date Night & The Memphis Redbirds Game

Last night Mike and I went to a Memphis Redbirds game. The season just started last week so we were looking forward to going! We usually go in the summer time when it is really hot and last night was one of the first times I can ever remember going when there was a chill in the air and I had to wear a jacket. It was still nice though. I don't like going to ball games when I'm sweating my butt off. So we enjoyed the game, some yummy food, cold brews & time together!

New Favorite Show: 9 By Design

I have a new favorite show . . . 9 By Design on Bravo, have you seen it? I love it. It has design and a real family and I think it will be exciting to watch. From the looks of this season, it looks like they take A LOT on! It is amazing to me how they create these amazing homes, while also juggling their family! Definitely inspiring!! I don't even have kids yet and sometimes feel like I don't have enough time to do even the smallest things to my house - so I'm hoping this will inspire and motivate me to get things done in my own home.

From what I can tell, they purchase a building/home and completely re-do EVERYTHING, live there for a while, then sell it and move on to a new project. I can't imagine doing all that with that many kids and moving over and over, but they do it!!

Here are some of their amazing designs:

{This is the bedroom for their twin daughters, isn't is amazing??}

{All young boys want to play basketball, but living in an apartment in NYC can make that a bit difficult. Not for this family - they got their boys a basket ball goal, and covered the area so the ball would not get tossed off the building . . SO clever!!}

{Anyone who knows me , knows that I love b&w! So naturally I love this space!}

Finally . . . .Friday

I don't know about all of you, but I am so tired today and glad it's Friday . . . well I guess. I have a busy weekend ahead of me and have to work, but I am just so happy to be home, already in my pj's.

Tonight I am looking forward to:

{Getting take out, no cooking for me. I think I will have a Greek Salad from Memphis Pizza Cafe. Mike usually gets a calzone}

{Wine! Bought a Chardonnay yesterday so plan to open it tonight}

{Going to Redbox to pick out a couple movies to watch with my boo. Hope they have what we want so we don't have to go to 3 or 4 of them.}

{Just being lazy and cuddling on the couch with my honey and my little man Mr. Big! Perfect Friday night after a long, tiring week!}

{Yes, these are really our feet & yes this is really our little man . . Mr. Big}
