This song/video is from Tyler Perry's "Diary of a Mad Black Woman." I love this movie - it will make you laugh so hard AND cry!! One of my favorite parts is near the end during a church scene. You have to see the movie to get what some of the characters have gone through, how they lived and the type of people they were before this scene. This song "Father can you Hear Me?" is SO inspirational!! Every time I see this part of the movie I get goose bumps. Have you ever heard a song or been in church & you hear such an amazing song that it just makes you want to get out of your seat?? Well this is one of those songs for me. It is kind of funny and amusing to watch everyone get into it here - but I could see how they did! My favorite part is where the Mom (who was a junky and recovering drug addict) showed up during the middle of the song and started belting it out! The little girl in the beginning who is singing is her daughter and she had found her estranged Mom on the streets and asked her to come hear her sing at church. Her Mom ended up getting herself together, got clean and got some help and showed up. The Dad/Husband is Tyler Perry. He was raising his little girl and little boy alone because his wife couldn't kick her drug habit. He obviously still loved her - but he had done all he could to help her and couldn't do it anymore and just had to worry about taking care of his kids. When I saw this movie for the first time and the Mom walked through those doors and started singing with that amazing voice - I couldn't help but cry!! It was such an amazing, uplifting, inspirational, emotional scene! It really just gives you a sense of hope and "Yes I Can!" attitude! I love it when the Mom is singing and she says "I know I can't do this by myself . . " I love that part and it's so true! No matter what it may be - big or small - we can't do it by ourselves, we need God!
Okay - I know I am sounding "preachy" ha ha. This song just does it to me! I think I need to put it on my iPod or make me a CD of this in my car and when I'm feeling discouraged or alone I can listen to it. How can you listen to this song and not get chills, feel inspired or uplifted?? I know I do! And to answer the question . . "Father Can you Hear Me?" - He CAN hear us!! He always does. Sometimes we may not feel like he is listening to us, but he ALWAYS hears us!!
P.S. If you haven't seen this movie, you MUST watch it!!! It is HILARIOUS!!
Happy Tuesday All!
