Nabor Neighbor - moving "home" . . . literally

I'm baaaaack! It has been SO long since I was last on here - sorry. It's just hard to find the time with school and work, but I'm trying to get better about it. Not to mention that we just moved. I have to say that moving is up there with the top things I hate! It is the worst! It's not too bad until the very end when it's all of the little things you have to get. uggghhh! I sure hope we will not have to do it again for a long long time! We were living in Cordova, and then around Christmas time I found out that may parents may be moving. My Dad's position at his job was eliminated after over 20 years with the company due to another company buying them out. It was heartbreaking for my dad and heartbreaking for our whole family. My Dad had a non compete contract, which meant that he could not get a job in the same industry where they lived, so he new he was going to have to re-locate. My Mom and I hoped that my Dad would take just a little time and get some good long deserving rest, which he needed so bad from all the stress he had been under with his job. He was always SOO stressed with that job and we could all tell that it was really taking a tole on him. But, my dad did not waste any time looking for another job. To make a long story short he got a job in Lubbock, TX . . . . . when I first heard of this, I was like "where???" I had never heard of Lubbock before. haha. It's about 3 hours away from Dallas and about 4 hours away from Santa Fe, NM (which I hope to go there this summer!!) So right after Christmas, he moved down TX to go ahead and start his job. And I have to say that I think it was a blessing that this happened - I was always afraid that the job my dad had before was going to cause him to have a heart attack or something, he had some scares a couple of times, and so now that he has another job with not as much stress, I think it will be better for him.

My Mom stayed here b/c she still had her job and so they new they were going to be a part for a little while until they could figure out what the plan was for their house and everything here in MS. (I'm telling you all of this b/c it has to do with our move.) So during the holidays my parents talked to Mike and I and asked us if we would want their house? Mike and I were like "of course." We would be SO lucky to be able to live in their house and call it home. So we had decided to move back to MS. We had been living in Cordova and had liked it at first, but missed Southaven, it was home.  So 2 weeks ago today we finished moving in. My Mom is still here for a little while longer. She keeps making jokes that about how Mike is having to live with his mother in-law, ha ha - but it's all good. Mike and I were always over at my parents house anyway, so it's not like being around my mom is anything new to Mike. Everything is going great besides the fact that a lot of our things are not settled yet as far as furniture and all. My Dad has taken most of their things back to TX with them, but there are still some things here, rugs, ect. We have boxes and pieces of our furniture that we have not found a place for yet in the dining room and living room. The den is coming along, but still has a ways to go. Anyone who knows me well, knows that this is very hard for me, ha ha - b/c I am just dying to start re-arranging things and start decorating. It's what I love to do, and the fact that I can't do it yet is driving me NUTS! I have all of these ideas, but I know it will be a while before I can do what I have in mind. But it sure is fun to think about!

Well, that's it for now - I have to get ready to go to work (yes I go in later today, from 3-9pm.) But it sure was nice to sleep in.  Maybe if I have some time at work, I'll make another post. LOL - I'm not on here for months, and then I do 2 in one day, how funny would that be!
