This past year has been SO hard since it has been the first time in my life I have been so far away from my parents . . . . and my Mom, my best friend! We are SO close and it has been quite an adjustment not seeing her almost everyday. While it has been hard, I also remind myself that when she was my age, she had been without her mother for almost 7 years. She lost her Mom (my grandmother) when she was 22 and just a few months before my parents were married. So when I think of that, I know that although she is not near, I still have her and can pick up the phone and talk to her any time I want. For that I am grateful!!!
