We Didn't Blow Away

So . . . we didn't blow away this weekend despite the crazy, scary weather. We literally had almost a full 24 hours of tornado warnings and sirens going off. It was not fun! It was always a relief when the sirens went off and you felt like you could relax a little, but then just as I would relax and start to turn the TV from the weatherman, there they were again . . . the sirens. I didn't sleep good Friday or Saturday night at all and M didn't either. I had to work Saturday, but not till a little later, and M had to work Sat. & Sunday and I felt bad for him because I knew he was so tired! So tonight we are just going to chill and watch a movie! Luckily M is off tomorrow and Tuesday, so I hope he can catch up on his sleep then. AND I think (hope) all the tornado stuff is over!! All weekend this is what my bedside table looked like . . . . .

{weather radio, phone, flash light & candle, which is always there because I like to have a good smelling candle by the bed.}

This was in case electricity went out and we could keep up with the weather updates with our weather radio and of course flashlight and candles are always good things to have if your electricity goes off. Luckily, that didn't happen to us, but I know it did for some other people in the area.

Tonight we went and got lots of groceries. Usually on Sunday nights I don't cook so we just do something easy. We got a really yummy turkey deli sand which at the grocery and had that with some baked beans. It was really good! Then for dessert we had Angel Food cake with strawberries and cool whip. It was SOO yummy!!

Today I finally got these neat square mirrors up on the wall. I have had them for months but hadn't put them up yet because I didn't know where I wanted them. I decided to put them in our breakfast room . . . .

They will look 10x better if we ever get around to painting . . the white would pop a lot more against something other then that beige color. AND you will never guess where I found these????? The Dollar store!! Yep! I was in there getting paper plates one day and I just walked by and happened to see these. I wish I had gotten more because I could do even more of them on a wall and it would look way cool. I may have to go back one day and see if they do have them since they were only $1! So I spent a total of $6 on these. Awesome huh?

Hope everyone had a great weekend and better weather than us!

I have those same mirrors from the Dollar Store!!! Glad y'all survived the storms.

You're right, I can't believe anyone would stop and go to the bathroom in a random port-o-potty! Several training groups use our neighborhood to train for races, so I guess they don't think a thing of it!

Glad you guys didn't have any tornados! So scary. I hate when the weather is like that. We get a lot of that in the Spring too.

Angel food cake and strawberries....Mmmmm...one of my favorites!
