New Orleans Part 2

Now to finish telling you about my last night and day in NOLA. Let's see, where did I leave off. Oh yeah - so we had lunch at the famous Brennan's with Mrs. Brennan and then went back to our hotel for more meetings. That was really hard because we were all SOO stuffed from our amazing lunch, not mention the 3 or 4 cocktails we had with lunch, ha ha! But we went back to work for a while and consumed a lot of hot tea and coffee to stay awake. After our meeting we changed and headed to the Roosevelt hotel, which is one of the nicest hotels I've ever seen. And yes you probably guessed right - it is named after President Roosevelt.
We met with some people at the hotel and they served us Hotel Roosevelts signature drink, the Sazerac . Pretty stout and I couldn't finish it, but it was still fun. After sitting in the lounge for a bit and hearing some history of the hotel, we went on a personal tour.
This hotel has a few ballrooms, which of course is great for weddings and receptions. All of the ball rooms where amazing, as well as all of the rooms and suites. SOO nice!! I so want to stay there soon!!

This room isn't even the best room. . . but look how nice.

This is in one of the suites
And this was in the Presidential Suite . . love the piano!

I wish I had photos of the spa at the hotel . . OMG the NICEST spa I have EVER seen!!! I am SO going back just to go to this spa!!! INCREDIBLE!! One of my fav parts besides the spa was the top of the hotel where the pool was. This was awesome!!! I would so love to lay here and get my tan on. You can't see it in the pics, but they also had cabanas! Oh and the view of the buildings was gorgeous. I especially loved the exquisite church in the background.
After our tour we went to Chef John Besh's amazing restaurant in the hotel called Domenica. Everything there was absolutely divine. If any of you are ever in NOLA and looking for a great place to dine, you MUST go here. Not only was the food incredible, but the contemporary atmosphere made the experience that much more enjoyable. I loved it! It was right down my alley!!
After Dinner we went back to the hotel and a few of us decided to go out for bit on Bourbon. Got a few pics as we walked back . . .

A few of us went to The Cats Meow - good times and karaoke! And a lil dancin too!
The next morning was our last day . . .and what better way to end our last day by having breakfast at Cafe Du Monde.
They are famous for their coffee and Beignets, which is what we had. These are to DIE for (fat free of course, LOL)!! I had them last time I was in NOLA too.
As I sat there eating I kept thinking how this was the same place my parents enjoyed breakfast 28 years ago on their Honeymoon, just a fun thought and neat that it's a place that is still around and thriving.
Group pic . . .
After that, we walked around a bit and went in a few shops. I found a great silver ring (which I'll have to show you all another day . . .) and a few other little things. Brought Mike back a really cool Saints hat, he loves it.
They have a French Market with fresh produce, food and people selling handmade jewelry, clothes, a lot of things.

There was some great art along the streets. My boss purchased a really cool painting. I love local artist!! You know you are most likely getting a one of kind piece.

That was pretty much my trip! I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to go back!! NOLA has so much to offer and so much more to see, more then just the typical things you think of like Bourbon Street. Not that Bourbon isn't fun, but there's so much more to experience. Now I am SO watching my diet, I ate too much while I was there, but boy was it GOOD!!!
