Black + White + Stripes = Classic. Timeless. Statement.

I don't know what my deal is lately, but I have been obsessed with everything that is b&w stripes! I love this bold, yet classic look when it comes to clothes, accessories, furniture and decorating!

First of all, b&w is my favorite because it's classic and you can never go wrong when you wear it, and secondly, b&w stripes ad a certain look that is timeless!

Seafood for 2!

Last night M & I had a little seafood dinner for 2! It was M's idea to do tuna steaks, so he put those on the grill then I sauteed some scallops and fixed some jalapeno hush puppies for him. I tried to resist but did give in and had a few hush puppies! Everything was SO good and it was nice to do something different for a change. Minus the hush puppies, our dinner was very healthy!!

Oh and I also fixed a pear salad before dinner. It was quite tasty and refreshing too!

I'll be back later to post more pics from our time last weekend. Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend so far. I have been so tired today for some reason. We got up this morning and went to the early church service (we usually go to the later one) so maybe that's why I've been so tired today. But I'm in my pj's now and enjoying just chilling out and veggin on the couch!!

Memorial Day Weekend {part 1}

I meant to post about my long holiday weekend a couple days ago, but I have been a bit busy this week and just now getting to it. I will warn you now . . I have lots of pics but will try to pace myself! ha ha!

As I mentioned before, my parents came in town from TX. Bless their hearts, they had such a long drive, almost 15hours!! My brother came home from Nashville too, so we were all together which was great!

Mom and I went shopping, then we all cooked, looked at old pictures and then Sunday went to the lake. We had such a good time despite a little rain that passed through and put a damper {pun intended} on being on the lake for just a bit. The rain passed eventually and we got back to it!

Special Day

How was every one's Memorial Day weekend? Mine was great since my parents and brother were in town! I have been pooped since they left yesterday morning though. We had a full weekend of shopping, running around, going to the lake and my parents helping us do some things in the yard. I will post some pics from our fun filled weekend here in a day or 2.

Tomorrow marks a very special day. It is the FIRST birthday of my best friend Ashley's little girl, Avery! I remember when she was born a year ago and talking to Ashley a couple times in the middle of the night to see how she was doing. I wasn't able to be there since we don't live close, but she called me to keep me posted and we laugh now because the last time she called me I could tell she was pretty drugged up, ha ha! But when I finally saw pictures of her sweet little girl, I was so proud! Ashley and I have been friends since 6th grade and really became inseparable best friends our SR. year of high school. We have been through so much together, we were each others Maid of Honor at our weddings, and now she has a sweet baby girl and I am so proud to get to watch her be the best Mom! I look forward to the day when she gets to give me tips and pointers through my own pregnancy! It will be a whole new chapter of our friendship!

Avery is seriously the prettiest baby girl! I knew she would be adorable of course, but she has turned out to be so gorgeous, just like her Mommy!!

Due to long distance I am not able to share this exciting and special day with Ash and Avery tomorrow. But I know it will be the BEST, most SPECIAL day!! I still cannot believe she is going to be a YEAR old!! It seems like just yesterday Ashley told me she was pregnant! I get to see them both next month and I am SO excited to hold and squeeze this little cutie!! I miss her so much, I miss them both!

So here's to Avery on her first birthday! You are a precious, precious girl and I love watching you grow into the little diva your Mommy has made you to be! Happy Birthday Avery!!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

I've been M.I.A this week because I was getting ready for company this weekend! My parents came from TX and my brother is here from Nashville. I LOVE having my entire family together!! We are going to have a great weekend!! We are going to grill out, cook, go to the lake, and Mom and I may do a little shopping! It will be great! And my house is the cleanest it has been in a while. Company is great because it forces you to clean really good! ha ha!

I plan on taking lots of pics, which I will share later. I hope all of you have a fab weekend as well. Be safe and as we all enjoy our weekend, lets all try to also remember what it's really about and how lucky we are to live in such a great country and be protected by so many amazing men and women every day!

Knotted Mesh Jewelry

Last week I picked up this bracelet that I had been eyeing for a while . . . and I love it!

They had a necklace too that I might like to go back and get. I really like the knotted mesh jewelry right now. Here are some other mesh pieces that are cool!
