Show 'n Tell Tuesday: Personalized Stockings

SHOW:

TELL: For a wedding gift 2 years ago, a friend of mine and her Mom gave us these adorable stockings. The Mom made them, along with a tree skirt that says "The Nabors" on it. I haven't hung them up yet so the picture is from last year when we were in our other house. I love these stockings though and think that was just the sweetest gift and something I will remember every year when I get them out for Christmas!

My weekend . . .

My weekend consisted of . . .

Decorating my mantel in the den (off of the kitchen) . . . .here's a sneak peak
May add a few more touches, but I kinda wanted a simple look. Sometimes less is more . . .

I baked some Christmas cookies for my lovely. . . . .

I only ate one the entire weekend! I was good!

I worked on a wreath in our dining room that I have hanging over a mirror. I started with a B&W theme on it and used something from our wedding. Then I decided to place some berries in it for a little pop of color. I'll show more later, but for now here's a sneak peak . . . .

I made Mike something he's been wanting me to make for a while now . . . .Buffalo Chicken Lasagna. I wasn't so sure about it when I first heard it. I thought it sounded like a gut buster, ha ha! But since it calls for chicken breast, I figured that made it a little better for you instead of ground beef, not as much fat. It was really good and I want to make it again. I used a recipe from Good Morning America and it was a crock pot recipe. I just had to bake the chicken first and chop a few veggies. I threw it all in there and then Friday night when I got home, dinner was ready! Love that! It was really good! I think I'll try it again sometime using another recipe and do it in the oven, just to compare. You can find the recipe I used from GMA here.

Feelin Green This Christmas?

So I am still working on decorating our house. I worked on the mantel a little tonight and still have to finish up my trees. I worked late tonight and didn't get home till 9:30, so my night was pretty much shot by the time I got home.

Our den, which is right off the kitchen, has some green accents with a touch of yellow in some wall art. I saw some of these pictures below that I think are just beautiful. Staying with tones of green is such a great look for Christmas I think. It's simple, classy, organic & chic all at the same time!!

How cute is this in the kitchen???? I wish I had a window over my kitchen sink!!! LOVE this!!!

Show 'N Tell Tuesday: Rosemary Tree Christmas Gifts

SHOW:
TELL:

This is what I gave the girls that I work with for Christmas last year . . .Rosemary Trees. I struggle every year to think of something cute, different, and something they can actually use . . . . and then I thought of this! Rosemary trees smell SOO good and also look pretty and make a great holiday decoration! Along with each tree I found some cute little books that I put some recipes in that calls for Rosemary. I also used some black tool I had and put these little green berry type things on each one too. They all loved the trees!! I loved them so much I had purchased 2 for myself!! Now if only I can think of something to do for them this year . .hmm . . . . . .

Coach is on my Christmas list!

The other night Mike and I were talking about Christmas and he asked for a few ideas.
I work 2 doors down from Coach and have noticed a few things in their window.

I am a hat person so I LOVE both of these. But I think I would just need one, probably black!

They had some scarves in the window the other day that I loved too & in a array of colors!!

I LOOOVE these leather gloves with a silk lining!
I specifically showed Mike these bracelets. I have been wanting one really nice, real gold bangle for a while. Something I will wear forever. I think I like the first one the best I think. It is thinner but then again the other 2 are quite nice! Later I'd like to have a couple silver ones
too, then I could wear them all together. But for now, the gold one is what I am wanting!
There are many other things I like, but I'd say the bracelet and hat are on the top of my list from Coach!!

Thanksgiving 2009

Thanksgiving day we went to Jackson, TN to my Grandmother's house. Everyone took a dish and my Grandma did the Turkey. This was the first year we have done this, but I think it was a really good idea & made it easier on my Grandma. It was a good day. This was one of the first Thanksgiving's that I didn't feel like I ate entirely too much. With that said, I think I have made up for it over the weekend. I have eat too much left over dressing, bread, and sweets. So I have GOT to get back into my healthier routine this week. But hey - that's what the holidays are for, right?

I hope everyone else had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! We are putting our tree up tonight, so maybe later in the week I will have it decorated and ready to show pics!!

It has been a Nabor's tradition for a few years now that we get a Pumpkin Spice Latte on our way out of town for Thanksgiving. The latte & Christmas music makes the drive so much fun!!

My Grandpa and his doggie Miya!! He loves her so much!!!!
My little bro enjoying the yummy sparkling cider Grandma had.

All of the Grandkids!!
The dessert table at Grandma's!
Grandpa & Grandma love making Miya do tricks. Miya likes doing them too because then she gets a treat! They sing a song and she dances . . ha ha

My brother Casey & Mike
The Nabors
Mike and my brother had to leave to get back to Memphis. I stayed for the rest of the day with my parents. My Dad was telling them bye. I snapped a pic just as he was giving my brother a hug! They were laughing about something too. Cute!!

Oh & so long to the Fall Decorations. I keep my fall decor out till Thanksgiving . . .

My Mom baked a lot and there is nothing like the smell of yummy things in the oven!!
