His memorial service is scheduled for Thursday. I am praying so hard for this family. Brow Beauty

Yesterday I had to go see one of my clients and drop off some magazines to her. She does a few things like hair and make-up for photo shoots, but her specialty and concentration is on eyebrows. When I talked to her the other day she said that when I came to see her, that we should do my brows, and of course I said okay. She had previously explained to me how she does it, I told her I was reluctant about getting my brows done because the few times I have had mine waxed, the place in the middle, between my eyes always breaks out due to the wax being too hot. It happened my Jr. year after prom - and I mean the day after! I felt like I was a character from Star Wars, ha!

But . . . she explained to me how she does her brows. She doesn't wax, she only tweezes. She also measured my actual eye, this gives her an idea of how full or long my brows should be. I have never had this type of eyebrow shaping experience in my life, so not only did I get my brows cleaned up, but I got an education as well. I have never had a lot of eyebrows and have always wished I had fuller ones that could be shaped. She said we will get them that way, so I am excited!

Speaking of brows, there are some celebs out there who have such beautiful eyebrows! I think it's something I tend to over look sometimes when I see pictures of them, but if you really look at these celebs brows, you will notice just how nice they are! I hope mine end up looking like some of these one day!

Magnificent Monday

I think none of us are big fans of Mondays, right? It just means the weekend is over, it's the start of a new week and sometimes if you know you have a really big, busy week ahead Mondays just mean it's all about to begin. But today, I had a great Monday!!
  • I got to work from home today! Woohoo
  • My hubby was off work today (he usually has Monday's off)
  • It was nice weather, hot but with a breeze and I got to sit outside for a lil while and catch a few rays
  • Got to chat with my BFF, Ashley over at Ashley's Avenue
  • I had a very productive day working from home!! Yay!!
  • Got a nice check in the mail that I have waiting for
  • Went to work out. Did legs with my hubby, then did a lil cardio
  • Cooked a yummy, quick, healthy meal
  • Real Housewives of NJ is on tonight!! And it's a good one!
I have to say, I think this has been one of the best Monday's I have had in a while - actually, it was overall just a good day! I love those, don't you?

Now to some good jewelry talk . . . last week I kinda went crazy and got a me a few new necklaces and a couple bracelets. As if I need any more jewelry. But I love it, and most of what I got was on sale - which makes me feel not so guilty! ha ha! I was taking some pics over the weekend and one of them was of me with one of my new necklaces . . .

So that's pretty much all I have for tonight . . hope some of you had a good day today like I did!

Cherry Blossom Love

To me, there is nothing more beautiful than Cherry Blossoms! Trees, stems, photography, art, cakes, whatever it is, it's beauty! I saw some photos tonight of a girl I went to grade school with and she was in Korea and had taken some amazing photos of the cherry blossom trees there, I mean they were breathtaking!! I would love to get to see some of the huge, amazing cherry blossom trees in person. They are all over Asia and from the photos I have seen that look incredible!

I have been thinking now how I wish I had incorporated white cherry blossoms in my wedding, but for some reason I just didn't think about it at the time. I have been having fun making inspiration boards lately, so I made this one, Cherry Blossom Love! It makes me smile!!

A Radiant, Royal Wedding

Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria just got married this past Saturday, which also happened to be her parents, the King and Queen's 34th wedding anniversary. She married a common man who was not from royalty, but owns some gyms which is where they met. I think the fact that she married a common man makes for such a great love story. These days royals are not following the traditions of marrying who is suitable for them according to their family, but they are marrying more for love.

I saw some pictures from their wedding and I am in aw of just how royal and beautiful everything was. Princess Victoria looked so classic and beautiful, just as a real princess should on her wedding day. I just wish her husband, Daniel Westling wasn't wearing these glasses because he is actually good looking from some other photos I have seen. I like glasses on guys, but something about these I just am not to crazy about . . BUT, his speech he made to her . . . WOWWWW! So incredibly beautiful!!

Take a look at this video that was put together . . it is absolutely breathtaking! You can just tell that they are SO in love. I don't know if I've ever seen such a beautiful love between 2 people or such a beautiful wedding celebration (besides mine of course, ha ha!) But seriously, you MUST watch this!!

Poem I wrote for my Dad: Happy Father's Day!!

My Dad

My Dad has taught me so many things
He's been there and helped me fulfill my dreams

He has always been there no matter what
Even when I deserved a big kick in the butt

He never went to bed without kissing me goodnight
And when he hugged me, he hugged me tight

He taught me how to drive, he taught me about life
I still learn from him today, even now that I am a wife

He sacrificed things so I could have more
And for that I can never repay him for

He is so funny and so sweet
He loves to blare his music as he's driving down the street

He used to help me with my homework, math especially
If it were not for him, who knows where I'd be?

My dad has been my hero, my father, my friend
And on this Fathers Day, it is my love to him I send

Working with Southern Bride & Vintage Video

As some of you know, I work for Southern Bride Magazine! I love working for this magazine and am looking forward to our next issue coming out later in the month.

Every 6 months all of us from the home office here in Memphis get together with the rest of the staff from Alabama (we have an Alabama issue there as well.) In January we all got together for our sales retreat in New Orleans, but this time we are staying here in Memphis and going to show the girls from Alabama a good time! It starts tomorrow morning. We will be in meetings all day, but break for lunch, then at night we will be going out to dinner and fun.

There are some great things planned on the itinerary. We are going to dine at a few of the best restaurants in town, be chauffeured in a limo and end our last night at the Peabody rooftop then Beale Street. So we will be working and brainstorming during the day, but then having a little fun at night! I should have some great pictures to share with you later on in the week.

So today will probably be my last post until the weekend. I have some things to prepare for our meetings and also have to pack. Even though I live here in Memphis, as do a few of the others, we are all staying in a hotel downtown. So I've gots lots to do. I'm about to head out to go to the gym (don't feel like it but I know it's my only chance to go this week) then a mani and pedi, then a little shopping. Would like to try to find a couple cute dresses to wear out for our dinners, so hope I have luck on that.

As I mentioned, our next issue of Southern Bride is coming out later this month. It is going to be AMAZING! The theme was "Then & Now" with a look at vintage inspired designs and trends and how brides today are incorporating those ideas into their current day weddings and fashions.

I wanted to share a couple video trailers with you that were taken from one of our photo shoots.

Click HERE for the first one. Keep in mind as you watch it that is is "Then & Now" which explains the music/sound!

Then the second trailer shows some behind the scenes shots and what goes on during our shoots, as well as some of the amazing photos that were taken by photographer Michael Allen here in Memphis. Click HERE to view it.

Enjoy and I look forward to returning with some fun stories and pics from all of us gals with Southern Bride!

CMT Awards ~ Fashion Yays & Nays

This past week there have been a few award shows: CMT music awards, MTV movie awards, and then last night, the Tony awards. I saw some dresses that I loved and them some that I was really just puzzled by.

So, let's start with a few from the CMT music awards . . .

Yays

{Julianne Hough always looks good!}

{Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum looked classy in black!}

Sadly that's all for my Yays at the CMT's so far . . .

Nays

{I would like this better if the black part was not across the collar.}

{This dress cold be cute, but not for the awards. She just looks like she threw on her dress and shoes and left her house - she needs more!}

{I just didn't think this dress did anything for Faith. The color washed her out to me. If it was a different color I think I would like it better.}

{I just think this dress looks cheap. Taylor has made better choices before. It's not horrible, but it's not great in my opinion.}

{Hate to see Kelly Pickler look like this because she usually looks good, but not sure what she was thinking in this??}

{Jada presented an award in this - and this is not it for her, she's on my Nay list for the Tony's too . . so just wait!}

Hope to be back later to do the ones from the MTV Movie Awards and Tony's!

Memorial Day Weekend {Part 2 . . finally}

I meant to finish posting about Memorial Day weekend earlier in the week, but I didn't get to it. I still wanted to share about the rest of our weekend since my family was here, so here we go . . .

Before they arrived I baked some mixed berry muffins (blueberry and raspberry to be festive.) We enjoyed them all weekend, they were so yummy!!

I had some flowers on my patio. This is just one of them, I had 2 more in red.

My parents stopped to visit my grandparents (my Dad's parents) on there way here. The 2nd night they were here we looked at a bunch of old pictures my grandma gave my dad. There were pictures of my dad when he was little and my grandparents and great grandparents when they were young! It was so fun looking at all of them!

Then the weekend flew by. We did some shopping, dad helped us with yard work (since we have a pretty large yard) and then on Sunday we went to the lake. You can see that post here.

Memorial Day I had a few appetizers out for us while we were getting ready to grill steaks and hot dogs.

Table
I'm not looking the best in this pic. It was at the end of the day and I was tired and kinda washed out

We also enjoyed some shrimp and had the BEST, spicy cocktail sauce - thanks to my brothers girlfriend who brought it!

I roasted a big pan of veggies to go with our dinner

We enjoyed some wonderful wine my Mom brought back from a local winery where they live in Texas.

And then by the end of the night, we were all pooped after going to the lake the day before. We lounged around in our pj's. This is my brother and his girlfriend chilling on our couch. Mr. Big found him a comfy spot on Ashley's lap!

And here we are!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!! Stay cool - I don't know about where you live, but it is SO hot and humid here! yuk!

Fun Day & Funky Shoes

Last weekend M and I went out and about and just enjoyed our day together! We are both usually working on the weekends so getting out and being together during the day on a Saturday was such a treat for us! We went shopping and just had a good day! I also got to wear this fun pair of shoes that I bought a month ago, but hadn't worn yet.
They are pretty funky, but I love them!! Silly me had to snap a pic of them as we were driving along . . .

This is me before we left our house that day.

Handsome hubby driving!

And me being silly as we waited for our drinks at Sonic! M laughs at me when I make this face! So babe, this is for you! ha ha

I love days when we can just be together, drive around and have no schedule! It's the best! This weekend we will be back to our normal weekend schedules and will both be working, but I sure do look forward to another fun Saturday like this with my honey!
